On September 12, 2024, Dr. Dansby lost her battle with cancer. She fought bravely during her illness, showing remarkable strength and resilience in the face of tremendous challenges.

Dr. Dansby was a cherished faculty member of the MTSU Professional Counseling Program for many years. She was an amazing friend, colleague, and teacher. Her influence on our program was beyond measure, and her contributions will be felt for years to come. And her impact on the world was profound and far-reaching, leaving a legacy that inspired so many.  

Prior to her death, Dr. Dansby was still thinking about our program. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts could be made to support her award/scholarship or to the MTSU Professional Counseling Program Enrichment Fund. Donations in her honor can be made by checks payable to “MTSU Foundation” at 1301 E. Main St., Box 109, Murfreesboro, TN 37132.
